Travel Blog - England 2026
Welcome to this year's language trip travel blog!
Another year has passed, and once again our students are preparing for an exciting new experience. Our 7th graders are heading to the southern part of England, where they will have the opportunity to see, explore, and learn more about the culture of a country whose language connects people all around the world. This is why we learn English!
Follow our journey as we discover the south of England, improve our English, and create unforgettable memories! Stay updated and follow our England SMS Prutz stone.
Day 8 - On the way back
On the day of departure, we had to be at our language school at 7:45 a.m., and then the buses arrived. The journey to the airport took about 3 hours and 4 minutes. There was a short traffic jam, but everything went well.
At the airport, we checked in our luggage and went through the security control. We had to put our bags, jackets, and belts into small trays, which were checked through a conveyor belt. Gilbert was even checked for drugs (Gilbert is a very cool, stretchy pig filled with sand).
After that, we went to passport control, where our passports and faces were scanned. Then we had some time to buy snacks or drinks.
Next, we went to the boarding area. We had to wait a short time because many people wanted to get on the plane. Then we found our seats and the flight began. The flight took about two hours.
After the landing, we went through the passport control again and then we collected our luggage. At first, our suitcases didn’t arrive, and we were a bit worried, but then they finally came. We went to the buses. The first bus was full, so we took a smaller one.
Overall, the England week was very nice. My highlight (Marie) were the two days in London. The best thing for me was the London Eye because you have a wonderful view. You see Big Ben and more beautiful things (Ellena).

Day 7 - Eastbourne
This morning at school was quite busy. We spent most of the time doing different exercises. One activity was extraordinary andd interesting: descriptions of people we were given to us and we had to match them with the correct photos. It was sometimes tricky, but also fun to figure out the details.
Another task we worked on was to invent a new subject for school. We had to think about something creative and exciting that students would actually enjoy. It was a cool opportunity to use our imagination and come up with new ideas for school subjects. Overall, the morning was productive and a bit different from a usual school day.

Today we went to Beachy Head. We walked along the high, white cliffs and saw the sea far below us. The view was very beautiful and the water was shining in the sun. We also saw a small lighthouse near the cliffs. After that we went down to the beach. There were rocks and sand, and the cliffs looked very big from below. We took some photos and enjoyed the fresh air. It was a calm and relaxing day in nature, and we had a great time together.

Day 6 - London
Today we had another day in London. We took the train at 9:05 from Eastbourne to Victoria Station. From there we wanted to go to Buckingham Palace but we arrived at the changing of the guards and there were too many people to take a proper picture of the palace. So we took another way and walked through St. James Park towards Trafalgar Square, then we had lunch at Leicester Square and the teachers gave us some time to go into the Lego store and other shops.

Today we had our lunch break at Leicester Square. Some ate at McDonald’s. Many went to the big Lego shop or to the opposite M&M’s shop. After the break, we went by underground to Baker Street, and then we went directly inoto Madame Tussauds. There were lots of famous people like The Rock, Lewis Hamilton, Freddie Mercury, and characters from movies like Star Wars and Marvel. After Madame Tussauds, we had to wait because somebody had a nosebleed. Then we took the Underground near Buckingham Palace. We saw the famous guards and more. A few moments later, we went to the railway station and headed back to Eastbourne. Today was a very nice day.

Day 5 - Brigthon
In the morning at twenty to ten, everybody met at Eastbourne train station. But some students were late, so we had to take another train and then change to another train (umsteigen) in Lewes . When we arrived in Brighton, we went to the garden of a big palace and ate a little bit of our lunch. A litte bit later, we went to the beach. There we ate the rest of our lunch. Then we entered the Brighton Pier (Seebrücke).

At the Pier we had a long period of free time where we took rides with many attractions. We had a lot of fun. Then we went to a big shopping centre. At the Shopping Centre we had time to go to the shops. That was nice because we bought a lot of nice things. At half past 4 we went to the Brighton train station and drove back by train to Eastbourne. At the train ride we where realy tired but we had a really great day and a lot of fun.The best thing of the day was the Brighton Pier because there were a lot of attractions. The best attraction was the water slide it was really funny and wet.

Ride the wooden logs and be prepared to get very wet. Make the climb and reach the top but be warned: it’s all downhill from here.
Day 4 - Hastings
Today, April 25th, 2026, we were at school in Eastbourne in the morning. We had four lessons from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In the first lesson, we received an assignment. In this assignment, we had to convince a friend to watch a film. In the second lesson, we had to form questions correctly, and we had to complete four of them. In the third lesson, we talked about British schools, and in the last lesson, we had to write ten words correctly.

After that we went to Hastings by train. The train was loud and fast. When we arrived we went to the beach. The water was cold and the stones were big. Then Luisa and I ate fish and chips. It was very yummy and hot. So many seagulls were there. They were loud and funny and tried to take food.
Later on we walked up a hill. It was a long walk and we were a bit tired. But the view was fantastic. We could see the sea and the town. It looked very beautiful. Now we are in the train again. We are a bit tired but happy. We had a cool day.

Day 3 - London
In the morning, we all met at the train station. After that we waited for the train. A few minutes later the train arrived and we drove to the Victoria train station in London. And then we all saw London for the first time and we all took lots of photos. After that we wanted to see the famous Tower Bridge, Big Ben and of course the London Eye. And my personal highlight was the London Eye, because you had one of the best views over London. But this day was also very exhausting because we walked about 10 km. And at the end we went by a double decker bus to the underground station. The we travelled back home to our host families in Eastbourne.

In the afternoon, we first went to the London Eye. We entered the London Eye at about 11:45 and were back down at 12:22. It was very cool and very high. We all enjoyed it very much. At 12:31, our lunch break started. We got hot dogs and french fries. They tasted delicious. After lunch, we walked for a long time through the city to the Tower Bridge. At 04:02 p.m. we took the double-decker bus to the underground station. We then briefly visited St. Paul's Cathedral. We took the underground to the train station. At 05:22 p.m., we took the train back to the old Town of Eastbourne.

Day 2
This morning we first had 3 hours of school, split up in 3 different rooms. That was a bit unusual. But otherwise it was great and it was cooler than at school. We also didn't have to do as much as we do in school. The teachers were very nice. After those 3 hours we had a 30-minutes-break and were allowed to go to all the shops. It was actually fun at school and I also thought it was really cool with the 30-minutes-break.
(author: Huter Marie)
We stood up at 7 o' clock at our hostfamilys house. We went to school by car with our hostmum at 8'or clock. The school was very nice but a bit boring too. We learnd very much about UK and so on. All in all it was a very nice day.
(authors: Aurora, Luisa)
In the 6th lesson we played two music games. Guess the song and the most famous song in the UK. That was very funny because we made a lot of jokes. In no time, the 7th and last lesson started. We worked on our pronunciation and had lots of fun. After school we went for a walk at the pier and had a bit of free time. This was a really great day in England! :D

Day 1 (Wednesday, April 22nd)
This morning April 22nd, we travelled to Munich by bus. We departed at 5:30 a.m. There was a bit of traffic, so the journey took about 3-4 hours. We were a little stressed when we arrived at the airport, but as soon as we boarded the plane, everyone got excited. The flight lasted 90 minutes, and we all had a great time. Once we arrived in London, we continued on to Eastbourne. The bus journey took about 90 minutes.
The plane started to slowly go down at 12:43. The plane landed at around 01:57 p.m. in London Heathrow. The airport was very big. There was even a train inside the airport, which was amazing.
We got our luggage back and made it through the border control before going to Eastbourne by bus. There was a time change when we landed. We are one our behind our home time.
At 01:13 pm we took the bus to Eastbourne. At 03:19, we arrived at the school in Eastbourne. We put the suitcases in the school and then we went for a walk to the beach/coastline. The teacher showed us the way.
We also saw the huge shopping centre called Beacon. After that, we went back to the school and our host families picked us up. What a day!
