Travelling is inspiring and exciting. Every trip a new experience. We share our stories with you.

Let´s check if all the English clichés are true?

Traveling can be exhausting too.

Day 8

We made it! We had to get up very early today because we met us at the coach station at 6 am. Luckily everyone was on time and so we could depart to London Heathrow airport. It´s such a huge airport! There were so many airplanes waiting to take off. The flight was just brilliant. In Munich we got our luggage (suitcases). We had a great journey back to Prutz where our families welcomed us.

What a nice experience traveling to England. Maybe one of us will come back with his/her family to those places again one day!

Day 7

Today was the penultimate day of our language trip. We got up at 7:00 a.m., then we got ready and took the bus to school at 8:31 a.m. . Lessons started at 9:00 a.m.

At 12:30 school was over, we said goodbye to the native teachers and then we went to the seafront. We had lunch in a beautiful parc. After that we walked to the Eastbourne Pier. Had a rest for another 40 minutes.

In the city center we talked to some kids who wore school uniforms. Unfortunately Jana got attacked by a seagull because she was eating crisps at a bus stop.

It was definitely one of the most relaxful days from our trip and we are looking forward to see our friends and families back home.

Day 6

Today we enjoyed a lovely day in Brighton. Of course, we had to go to school in the morning. When we arrived there we followed the way to the Royal Pavilion. The building, which was built in Indian style by George IV was used as a summer retreat for a long time by the Royal family.

Next, we headed to the Lanes, these are tiny, little shopping streets. At the pier my friends and me we enjoyed the amusement park. Stefanie and me we went on the „Air Race“, but many others didn’t dare because there are so many loops in it. We ate some candy floss too!

Later on we walked along Brighton seaside and had another half an hour at a big shopping center before we went back home by train to Eastbourne.

Day 5

Our group had a special trip to London. We started in Eastbourne by train but soon we had to take a replacement and went on by bus. The Busreise was interesting. Three of the girls, Julia, Eva and Tiffany, did their best to make us feel like home. With charming, sometimes out of tune, voices they presented their favorite medley. They gave us their best shots on „Jingle Bells“, „Last Christmas“, „Oh Tannenbaum“ and other well-known classics. Luckily the other people on the bus took it with a smile. Strangely there weren’t any standing ovations.

Today we were in London again! We visited Madame Tussauds. They currently have a marvel and a star wars exhibition! Some of us even had the chance to watch a 4D Marvel movie for about 10 minutes. That was a bit spooky and Daniel said to Mr. Althaler, „Sie sind aber leicht schreckhaft.“ We could even feel kicks into our backs.

Our next stop was the Royal Buckingham Palace and while we were strolling through St. James Park some parrots tried to pick breadcrumbs from our hands.

We also visited Covent Garden. We did some shopping there and after that there was a street performance outside. There was a guy in a black skirt and he picked a few people to be his "students" it was really funny and entertaining! They were throwing plastic knifes and when someone went to close or interrupted he took out a toy chicken and threw it at them. After that we made our way back by subway, the bus and the normal train.

Day 4

Today we went by train to London. But first things first. When we met at train station in the Eastbourne we heard that we couldn’t take a train because there was a floot somewhere along the track because of a lack. We changed plans. So we went to another train station in Polegate. When we were driving to London another announcement said that we couldn’t go on because of a tree on the track, so we waited.

In London we split up into six groups so we can’t lose each other easily. First we followed the Queens Walk. After that we walked across the Millennium Bridge to the St. Paul‘s Cathedral. There we could eat lunch or go inside the cathedral. Our next stop was the famous London Eye. Mr. Thöni had already booked a ride for us in advance. We queued up for about twenty minutes. It was really cool and our group had a nice view above London.

Next we went to see the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge. Then we went to the station called Victoria and went home.

Day 3

When we got up in the morning, we first made our bed and then ate cereals for breakfast. School started at 9 am, but me and tuba were late again because the bus didn't arrive on time.

After school the teachers came to pick us up from school and we went to the train station. While waiting for the train, we went to a shop and bought some food. We caught the train to Hastings. There we explored the town. „The town gave its name to the Battle of Hastings in 1066, when William the Conquerer came to England.“ Mr. Thöni told us.

Hastings is a fishing port and we could see some seagulls looking for leftovers next to the fishing boats. Later on we tried fish and chips, which is a must have in this town - it tasted very good. We took a photo with the man who sells fish&chips, it was a very funny one. He was happy to see foreigner school classes coming to Hastings again after the pandemic.

We could go to a shopping centre for 30 minutes before we returned. At the end of the day everyone went home and me and Tuba got on the right bus today! Yeiii!

Day 2

We started our day in a different country today. We got up, had breakfast at our host families‘ place and headed to school. School started at 9 am. We stayed there until half past twelve.

Then our teachers picked us up and we had a little rest until we were hiking to Beachy Head. It was quite a long walk up there along the coast, but even our slowest ones could reach the top. The view was astonishing! We were able to see „France“.

When we reached the town again, we had time for a little shopping tour at The Beacon and bought a few things.
Finally we had to find our way back Home to our host families. Tuba and Zeynep took the wrong bus and arrived very late. Their host mum was worried where they might be.

Devran tells us about his trip to Beachy Head

Day 1

We got up early this morning. At 4:45 we met in front of our school. After a three hours drive to Munich, we checked in, boarded and flew to London/Heathrow. From there we went again by bus to Eastbourne. We got to know the town and inhaled the seabreeze before our hostfamilies picked us up in front of our school.

Tomorrow we are going to walk to Beachy Head, a cliff in Eastbourne and on Friday we plan to visit Hastings. We are really excited, also because we are going to see London at the weekend. But first we have to attend school in the mornings.

Something we were confused about here was that drivers are sitting on the right, but are driving on the left side. Of course we knew it before, but now it is reality.
